For the Love of Homeschooling, Part 1 - Yvette Hampton and Aby Rinella

We all love our kids, but how do we show it? Or do we show it? What does the Bible have to say about love? Sometimes love doesn’t come naturally and oftentimes we have to really work at it. Love isn’t always a feeling, it’s often a choice. Thankfully, God has provided us with a beautiful blueprint on how to love those in our lives. Join Yvette and Aby as they talk through this important topic and give suggestions on how to love your family well.

Join Yvette Hampton and Aby Rinella as they discuss the love of God, family, and homeschooling! Yvette also shares some exciting updates about her family and the podcast, including the news that the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast recently won an award from the Content2020 Christian Film and Media Festival.

Join us Wednesday and Thursday for the rest of this conversation.

Yvette Hampton is a homeschool mom through and through, but it wasn’t supposed to be this way. Like so many other homeschoolers, Yvette and her husband, Garritt, said they would NEVER homeschool their kids, but God had other plans. She is the producer and host of the upcoming documentary, Schoolhouse Rocked: The Homeschool Revolution, being directed by her husband, Garritt Hampton. She is also host of The Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast. As a mom who is concerned for the future of this generation and the future of our country, Yvette has a deep passion to see a culture shift by encouraging people through the truth of God’s Word. Her greatest joy in life is being a wife and mom!

In the fall of 2016, she and her family sold their home and almost all of their possessions, loaded up in an RV, and began traveling the country to film Schoolhouse Rocked. They have a passion for the homeschool community and are humbled and honored that the Lord has called them to tell the stories of the millions of families who have been impacted by the homeschool revolution.

Aby Rinella is a former public school teacher turned passionate homeschool mom.
Aby resides in the mountains of the west with her college sweetheart and 3 awesome kids where they enjoy all things outdoors.  She is a writer and speaker seeking to encourage and inspire women to live the life they were designed to live, to train up their children in God’s Word, and to stand on truth in a culture that has lost its foundation.

Aby and her husband, Jesse, speak and write on the benefits of pointing children to their Creator through spending time out in His creation. They are also passionate about encouraging men and women to prioritize the calling they have been given to raise their families the way they were designed.  You can find them at CalledToTheTop.com or on Facebook at Aby Rinella-His Calling My Passion.

Scripture References:

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogantor rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;  it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”

Galatians 5:16-24

”But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
