Did you know you have a state homeschool organization working for you? State organizations PROMOTE homeschooling, PROVIDE valuable resources to help you homeschool successfully, and PROTECT your right to educate you children. These organizations are the first line of defense in monitoring state laws which would affect your family, then when action is needed, they rally their members and coordinate with other organizations to influence policy. We encourage every homeschool family to join their state homeschool organization (and HSLDA). Many people fought for years to gain the freedom to home educate and if we are not diligent we can quickly lose that freedom.

Rebecca Kocsis works for CHEA (Christian Home Educators Association of California), an organization that holds a special place in Yvette's heart. On this episode you'll hear why Yvette loves CHEA and get to know more about what state homeschool organizations are doing for you.

We were privileged to have been able to interview him for Schoolhouse Rocked and have been blessed by the support of IEW as a gold sponsor of the film.

In this episode Mr. Pudewa talks about the growth of homeschooling in Russia, China, and around the world. He also addresses how to motivate our kids to work diligently and effectively.

A listener asks, "How do you motivate the daydreamer to buckle down and complete their assignments quickly but well so that they can have more free time to pursue their passions. We’ve tried everything and even a scaled back assignment will take all day because she has no drive to finish. Do we just have to nag?" In his answer, Andrew Pudewa talks about four principals of motivation.
